da Woods isn't just a trademark, it's also a real place -- five and a half acres tucked away on the northern edge of Iowa City, Iowa. Socially, it's been an extended community in a couple of houses, a collection of friends and family spanning several generations, and an eclectic assortment of skills, interests, and hobbies. All in all, a great place for both business and leisure.
For business purposes, da Woods is just me, though: Kevin Crawley. I've been messing with computers since I first arrived in Iowa City in 1978, and getting paid for it since 1991. In my day job, I design, develop and maintain citychannel4.com, but you can only re-design your business site every so often. I do this because I like it, and because I'm good at it. I don't outsource, and I only take on a few clients at a time.
Oh, yeah, about the name...
I'm not from Chicago and I'm not into gangsta rappers. da Woods comes from my impersonation of an early Bugs Bunny character (Willoughby?) who was always 'looking for da rabbit.' I'm living in da woods, uh huh, uh huh, I'm living in da woods.
